Coaching Staff
 

At the start of April 2021, Mulder was named the head coach of the Senior U.S. Men's National Indoor Team field hockey team. Most recently he led the USA Men’s team in the Indoor World Cup in South Africa where they placed 4th overall. This is the highest ever the indoor team has finished at the World Cup. The USA indoor men’s team is now ranked 8th in the World as a result of their historic performance. 

Mulder hails from Cape Town, South Africa and began his coaching career in 2009 at Central Hockey Club. Most recently he was a volunteer assistant at Syracuse, Bryant and Maryland before joining the Tigers in 2019.   

 

From 2019-2022 Mulder was a full-time Assistant Coach at Towson University. During Mulders time at Towson, he helped lead the Tigers to the most wins since 2011, going 5-13, including winning their second conference game since 2011.
  
In South Africa he was the head of hockey at Western Cape Sports School where he developed players for national programs before moving on to become the Technical Director of hockey at Diocesans College in Cape Town. While working at Bishop's he was responsible for the development of their field hockey program from ages 6 to 18. As a head coach he led his team to two league titles and two regional titles in 2013 and 2014. 
 
From 2013-16 he coached the state Western Province boy's U19 team to three consecutive national championships. Mulder is not short of international experience, from 2015-17 he served as the head coach of the South African U17 team and served as one of the South African men's technical analysts.
  
Mulder pursued coaching science at ETA College in South Africa with a concentration in coaching hockey, and he is also a qualified level 2 coach and level 1 coach facilitator. To add to his field hockey experience Mulder was also the Chief Operating Officer of Sportways SA, the biggest field hockey coaching company in the world.


Arla Davis
Assistant Coach

Davis begins her first season at McDaniel in 2024 after spending one year at King's College in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.

A four-year member of the field hockey team at Ithaca College, Davis helped the Bombers to a 40-16 overall record with three appearances in the Liberty League Field Hockey Championship. In 2021, the team advanced to the championship game, falling to Vassar on a penalty stroke in overtime, 1-0. She played in 48 career games as a midfielder, making 16 starts and scoring one goal which was the game-winner in a 4-1 win over St. John Fisher on Sept. 4, 2022.

Off the field, Davis was a three-time National Field Hockey Coaches Association Academic Squad and Liberty League All-Academic selection. She earned the Dean's Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Roy H. Park School of Communications, the Outstanding Freshman of the Year Award for serving as the Assistant Sports Editor, Sports Editor, and podcast host for The Ithacan and the Peggy R. Williams Award for Academic and Community Leadership.

Davis was a member of the Tau Theta Chapter of the Lambda Pi Eta National Communication Honors Society, served as the President for Ithaca's Association for Women in Sports Media, was a Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Co-Chair and Bomber Leads Co-Chair, and spent time as the Head Campus Captain for The Hidden Opponent.

Davis spent two years as a student assistant in the athletics communications office at Ithaca, providing live social media updates during competitions, directing live streams, writing recaps, and assisting with in-game statistics for volleyball and women's lacrosse. She was also a member of the women's indoor and outdoor track & field teams during the 2022-23 seasons.

Heavily involved in promoting women in athletics, Davis served as a Demand IX Fellow and HerSport Intern through WomenX. She was one of 19 fellows across 12 states that focused on the history of Title IX, its role in collegiate athletics, and current events related to its legislation. She spent time as a summer intern for the Tucker Center for Research on Girls & Women in Sport and as a communications intern for the Women's Sports Foundation.

Davis graduated from Ithaca in 2023 with a bachelor's degree in sports media and a minor in journalism, Davis served as the sports information intern at King's
